Four seater cable cars that carry passengers from the nearby Montjüic Funicular station to the summit, location of the castle and its military museum.

Less of a vertical drop than the nearby cross-harbour cable car, but thrilling nonetheless. The little red cars -- intimate but open -- seat only four as they swing their way up the twanging cables to the top of Montjüic.

The views across the city and sea are spectacular, with fresh air breathing a feeling of space through the glass-free door. The journey down is the most fun, your little red pod launching itself off from the highest station and running like a slow motion roller-coaster along the twisting rolling route.
