Parc de les Cascades,
Ciutadella Villa Olímpica
A 25 metre high sculpture of tubular steel and sheet metal, located at the feet of Barcelona's two tallest buildings. Created by artist Antoni Llena it represents the victory of David over the giant Goliath.

Like some enormous kite, the 'torn paper' face of Goliath gleams down on us from high above -- at one angle smiling happily, from another with turned down mouth.
Despite its 131 square yards, Goliath looks set to drift off like a paper bag caught in a sea breeze... but no, he's held down by the wiry figure of David piercing through his giant nose.
Problems with him taking flight resulted in a late appearance for this proposed Olympic sculpture -- winds from the sea threatening to literally make him a kite. Luckily technical problems were overcome and the pair were installed in 1993 -- sadly though, a year too late for the games.
