Perhaps Barcelona's most famous Modernista store. The beautiful mosaic and stained glass shop-front was completed in 1902 by the architect Antoní Ros i Güell. It is now home to a patisserie called Escribà.

The stunning exterior of glittering mosaic and stained glass more than hints at the treats you hope to find inside. A cursory glance through the elegant arched windows just confirms your desires.

Be tempted in through the handsome doorway, into an interior packed with delicious cakes, pastries and chocolates. If you're really feeling up for it, what about a bottle of something bubbly to wash it all down?
