Placa Nova 5,
Jaume I
Situated opposite the gothic Cathedral, this blocky but functional building has a three sided mural which was designed by Picasso in 1957. Within the Collegi there are regular exhibitions relating to contemporary architecture, plus a specialist architects bookshop.

Picasso's mural fixes a contemporary edge to religious celebration as a series of simple graffiti-like figures dance across the concrete facade. Childlike bodies wave twigs and branches in a Christmas tree formation, while bulls and horses gallop gleefully together as part of the fun. In a square that is frequented by dancing and street music the bold design emulates a freedom of style, tempting even the most refined to throw open their arms and let lose.
