Gaudí's curvaceous Eixample apartment block (1905) was nicknamed "The Quarry" because of its famous rock-face facade. This was to be the master's last private commission, his next attentions turning exclusively to the Sagrada Familia.

Confused or bewildered by the great man and his work? Espai Gaudí is the place to begin your enlightenment.
This lively exhibition is housed high up in the attic space of Casa Mila, where wafer-thin rib-like arches spin out elegantly above your head. The exhibits help put into context both the man, his work and the times in which he lived. Each of Gaudí's projects are explained here with enthusiasm, using models, plans and video. Getting into the mind of a genius is a difficult task, but Espai Gaudí is an excellent place to start your Gaudían adventures.
Admittance to the exhibition includes access to the undulating rooftop above.
